Auburn's Innovative Water Meter Transformation
The Auburn Water and Sewerage Districts have teamed up with HydroCorp to replace all water meters throughout our service area. These meters are being replaced because they have reached or exceeded their useful life according to manufacturer specifications.
While the benefits are vast, these new meters give us the tools we need at our fingertips to better serve our customers. Meet the Kamstrup flowIQ 2200 and 3200 smart water meters!
ALL appointments for the meter replacement MUST BE SCHEDULED through the approved third-party contractor, HydroCorp, who specializes in community-wide installation programs. The HydroCorp technician that comes to replace your meter will be identifiable with a company shirt and identification badge provided by the Auburn Water District.

What Can I Expect?
The Auburn Water & Sewerage Districts are partnering with E.J. Prescott to supply the meters, and HydroCorp, Inc. for the meter installations. You will receive a notification from HydroCorp to schedule your new meter installation, which will be done at no cost to you. Please note: the Districts are not scheduling these installations, you must contact HydroCorp!

Integrated Leak Detection
These meters are capable of detecting and alerting leaks within the home in just a matter of days, not months. In addition, the accoustic leak detection helps the Water District locate leaks and main breaks sooner, optimizing water quality and limiting water loss.
Easy Installation and Maintenance
The meter is compact, can be mounted horizontally or vertically, and features an easy to read LCD interface. These meters take only minutes to install, are completely maintenance-free, and boast a 20-year lifespan!
Remote Communication
Utilizing Advanced Metering Infrastrucure (AMI), we are able to read these meters wirelessly on an hourly basis. This eliminates the need for an external radio device. Say goodbye to wires and unsightly MXU boxes!
Exceptional Accuracy
Ultrasonic technology provides ultimate precision while data is logged in the portal on an hourly basis for analysis. These meters do not have any moving parts, which means better long-term accuracy as well.
Enhanced Data & Analytics
Data stored for analysis will be made available to our customers through the online portal. Here you can view usage, trends, and even detect leaks within the property.
Advanced Smart Metering & Alerts
Alerts are automatically generated and delivered to District employees for things like low meter/water temperatures, internal/external leaks, tampering, reverse flow, etc.
